Yesterday, I was looking for a notebook and found this….
When I say “found this”, I mean I couldn’t find anything. So much stuff was crammed into this one little cabinet with no rhyme or reason. This cabinet is to the left of my desk. So when I’m trying to quickly clear away clutter from the top of my desk, I just stash it in this cabinet. Problem is, the cabinet has gotten so full it’s hard to get anything out and there’s no room to put anything in. Influenced by John and Sherry’s organization kick this week, I decided to tackle this wreck of a cabinet.
I threw away two grocery bags full of junk and now it looks like this…
Ahhh, much better. Oh yeah, and I found some spray paint and primer I had bought and missplaced months ago. That’s what happens when you clean… you find things you thought you lost.
It felt so good to clear out that cabinet, I moved on to the drawers to the right of my desk…
More stuff was tossed or relocated and now the drawers are all zen like. Well, maybe not zen-like but at least now they close all the way.
I don’t know about you, but things feel less chaotic and I feel more at peace when my surroundings are more orderly.
Back in January, I started using this calendar system to start clearing the clutter. I’ll admit I kind of fell off the wagon. I’m picking it back up but am behind by about 6 weeks. Better late than never, right?
How does clutter make you feel? Do you have a Spring cleaning routine?
