Inviting Entry and Amazing Mirrors

Well the front entry has been painted with Sherwin Williams Natural Choice, after having been primed for two weeks. I still have to finish the trim with Lowe’s off-the-shelf bright white paint.  The SW Natural Choice color is a fresh, clean color choice. However, now the entry is begging for some color infusion. There are a couple of things I know that I want for this area. Number one, I would like to add some hooks and a small bench. We have a coat closet but it is stuffed with our family’s coats. I’d love a place where guests can hang their coat or the kids can hang their book bag after school. We have a back door drop zone for coats and bags but I think it’s important to have one at the front entry, as well. Otherwise, a trail of belongings is left throughout the front of the house. We have a small little nook behind the front door where I would like to add the hooks and bench. Here are some of my inspirations:

Secondly, I like to have a place to check my face at every entry/exit of the house. Life can be such a rush, I like to give myself a quick glimpse to make sure I remembered to change out of my pajamas, brush my hair, get food out of my teeth. So, a mirror is essential. As I mentioned, the Natural Choice paint color is fresh and clean, but also very neutral. Whatever mirror I buy will most likely be painted a bold color. Here are a few amazing mirrors I’ve found.

So, I’ve been on a scavenger hunt for an old, ornate mirror to paint. No luck so far. To see more amazing mirrors, visit my Amazing Mirrors Pinterest Board. To view more entry inspirations visit my Entry Pinterest Board.

Did you tackle any projects this weekend? Do any painting? Seen an old mirror I could buy?

I just redid our entryway this fall. I had a lovely old oval mirror that I spray painted gold. You will find one, hang in there! I turned our front closet into a cloffice so we built this shelf with hooks for guest coats, etc. You can check it out here: Looking forward to seeing what you do with your front entryway!
