I bought these mini granola bars from Target a while back and saved the plastic containers in hopes of repurposing them. They are nice and roomy with an easily removable lid and best of all, they aren’t breakable like some glass jars I had considered buying.
The only problem is they have two large stickers on either side.
At first I tried the glass cleaner method. Spray glass cleaner on the label and cover with a piece of plastic wrap. Allow to sit for about 10 minutes and then peel the sticker off.
Unfortunately, that method was a bust and left me with this…
…which in my opinion, is worse than what I had to begin with.
I went to my friend Pinterest and typed in ‘remove sticker’ and came across these 4 dozen recommendations for Peanut Butter!!
Totally skeptical, I decided to give it a shot and slathered one sticker with a thin layer.
After leaving it on for 10 minutes, I used a butter knife to gently scrape off the remaining sticker. And the results weren’t bad – a little oily, but not bad.
After using the glass cleaner and a wet paper towel to wipe it off, it looked better than new.
And now we have a non-breakable, clear toy/snack/art supply storage container.
I have a few more that I plan to use the same method to remove the sticker and create more see-through storage.
What do you use to remove sticker residue? Have you ever used peanut butter? Give it a shot, it works!
