When my friend Jenny emailed me for some ideas for sprucing up her bedroom, I was excited to play around. The caveat was that she wanted to keep her existing furniture and bedding but pull in some full colors and elements to make the room more cohesive.
This was her inspiration picture.
Jenny wasn’t sure about the dark brown walls so we decided to go lighter such as the Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter she used elsewhere in her home. She liked the mirrors above the bed, the aqua side tables, and the pops of red. She also happens to have the exact same bedding and wants to keep that.
Here are the two mood boards I created to pull the elements together.
For the second mood board, I left the side tables dark and instead pulled in aqua lamps to match the bedding.
Working on a plan for Jenny’s bedroom has motivated me to think about our own master bedroom. I’ll share my ideas for my own room next.
