Boy’s Bedroom Plan

Since our interview, I’ve been working on a plan for Chase’s room. Things are still subject to change but here is the plan for now.

I’m trying to work with his existing furniture which includes a dresser and a white slat bed with trundle. I’ll be painting the room, adding a desk, new rug, new light fixture and other accessories.

The shark was upon request. I thought this driftwood version was a little less threatening than say this one:

I also have plans for the closets. He has two in his room so I was going to add shelves to one and turn it into the toy closet. That’s the first item on the agenda since getting the toys out of sight will leave less stuff to move around while painting.

I’m also having a hard time deciding on the paint color. Initially, I was set on a blue similar to the Palladian Blue in my home office. Now I’m looking at gray or greige – decisions, decisions.

Love this; my son would adore the shark head (he’s almost 17!)
Crystal – I was delighted to see your feature in BH&G. Love your office space and blog; congrats!

Sorry – forgot to ask where both shark heads are from? I need birthday gift ideas for the 17 year old son and that could be the ticket; thanks!
